Author: Leigh_
Format: Wattpad
POV: Georgie (but there's one chapter where the author put it as Conner's POV)
Summary: “Being reunited with your childhood best friend after eight years apart? Sounds like a heart-warming story. Finding out that said best friend is now a complete jerk who’s determined to make your life hell? Not so much.” Georgie and Connor were once inseparable. Best friends from birth, they did everything together – well, that was until Connor’s dad got a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity and the family was forced to relocate to New York. At age sixteen, Georgie’s life is totally different – her main goal being to keep her head down and escape the brutalities of high school with as little emotional scarring as possible. Balancing school, work and her dwindling social life is enough of a challenge, but it’s about to get a bit more complicated when her conceited ex-best friend gets thrown into the mix.
Maybe friendship should come with an instruction booklet.
Review
Lady's and gentlemen, what you see before you is me after reading this book. Yep, this book was deep..And I mean deep.
This book...this flipping book! Words can't even describe. (Well, I'm doing a review on it so, that sentence is sorta inaccurate) . You know what, I'll just simply tell you guys what I did after reading it.
Me: *Put's my phone down* (Yes, I was reading it from my phone, wattpad is so awesome, it has it's very own app!)
Me: *Wipe's away tear*
Me: *Start's clapping as if I just finished watching an amazing play * (And quite frankly, I did look stupid - But don't worry, I didn't clap in public...pfftt..But seriously though, I did not do it in public.)
Then guess what? I re-read the part where, they were in the New Year's party (Okay, that was a tiny spoiler) and it still made me cry! And the epilogue, the epilogue! - her flashbacks did it! It was as if I was watching a movie in my head!
Okay, enough with the fan-girling and actually get on with the review.
I expected a cliche story where Georgie will be that nerdy girl that's anti-social and what not. However, there was a twist which made this story so original! The characters weren't annoying (1 in a flipping million!) and the characters I was annoyed with was the character I was suppose to be annoyed with - Sounds complicated, I know.
The relationships between each character was amazing, I connected really well with Georgie and her awkward situations plus, the moments she has with Connor makes me want to squeal - as in when he's being a total jerk and when he isn't.
Hint: Just to say, once you've read chapter 14, I recommend going to the end of the book and read Connor's POV, I found it easier - once you've finish with his POV, go back to chapter 15.
Overall, this book was amazing! Curiosity is the reason why you read on, why curiosity? Well, this question will be kept on your mind until you finish reading. - Why does Connor hate Georgie so much?
